We are seeking qualified and experienced ESL (English as a Second Language) Instructors to join our growing ESL program. This position supports students in achieving English proficiency aligned with academic and occupational success.
This is a hybrid position, with instruction delivered both online and in person at our Washington, DC location.
Position SummaryThe ESL Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction in accordance with institutional policies. Courses may be front‑loaded or integrated with career-oriented programs. Faculty must ensure students develop measurable proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver ESL instruction in a hybrid format (online and in‑person).
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Support students in achieving English proficiency benchmarks tied to employability and academic progression.
- Administer and evaluate English proficiency assessments.
- Maintain accurate academic records, attendance, and student progress documentation.
- Utilize diverse instructional strategies and materials to accommodate different learning needs.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and institutional activities.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - TESOL, TEFL, or equivalent ESL teaching credential required.
- Demonstrated experience teaching ESL in postsecondary or adult education settings.
- Experience with hybrid or online learning platforms.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and student engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Experience teaching front‑loaded or integrated ESL models.
- Familiarity with nationally recognized English proficiency testing standards.
- Experience in career‑oriented or vocational education settings.
- Hybrid delivery model (online + in‑person instruction).
- In‑person classes conducted at: 1725 I St NW, Washington, DC 20006.
