Hourly 1:1 Special Education Assistant (Gunston)
Arlington, VA, United States (On-site)
Job Description Qualifications- Clear understanding of the educational needs of special education and general education students, which includes, but not limited to, assistance with physical, or sensory needs.
- Must be reliable, dependable and flexible.
- Assistants must meet the requirements of the NCLB and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) at the time of hire.
- A high school diploma, and an Associate Degree or two years of college study.
- At least 60 semester hours, OR a score of at least 455 on the Parapro Test.
- Experience working with student with special needs.
- Experience working in an elementary school setting
- Ability to communicate with parents.
- Collaborative team player.
- Willingness to work under teacher direction and supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, parents and children.
- Flat rate of $26.42/hr.
