OEHME, VAN SWEDEN | OvS, is an internationally recognized landscape architecture firm known for shaping the New American Garden movement and developing a distinct approach to naturalistic design. Our studio brings artistry, ecological sensibility, and technical rigor to residential, institutional, and public landscapes. We are seeking a qualified, dynamic candidate with six to eight years of experience who has demonstrated design expertise for a diverse client base.
The ideal candidate is a senior practitioner who can deliver to a high standard, confidently manage projects, and actively engage with and contribute to studio culture. The candidate will have strong technical skills, an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, and the capacity to manage projects, including the conceptualization and development of designs, oversight of construction, and clearly communicate with clients.
This role is ideally suited to someone with at least 6 – 10 years of relevant experience and:
- Qualifications in Landscape Architecture and have ASLA accreditation;
- Experience in a consulting environment with three (3) or more years’ experience as a project manager managing staff;
- A high level of competence in the use of relevant software applications, including AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and 3D modeling;
- Strong graphic skills in Adobe programs, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator;
- Strong knowledge base for plants, with a desire to deepen knowledge of plant species familiarity and planting design;
- Licensure.

- Provide design direction on projects for team members;
- Manage and monitor projects, allocate tasks, plan workload within the prescribed budget, and review project invoices;
- Engage and work closely with clients;
- Have experience in working on multiple projects concurrently or managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders;
- Participate in all phases of a project from master planning through to construction observation. This includes concept design, research, technical details and drawings during the Construction Documents phase, as well as participation in documented site visits;
- Deliver clear communication, including an ability to draft concise technical reports and contribute to conference calls, meetings, and workshops;
- Deliver a high standard of graphic, written, and verbal communication;
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.
