Overview

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is headquartered in Washington, DC. FDIC’s Virginia Square campus, including the L. William Seidman Center, is a multi‑building complex located in Arlington, Virginia. Amenities at the Virginia Square campus include a fitness center, cafeteria, two large auditoriums, and classrooms with state‑of‑the‑art audio/visual resources utilized by FDIC employees and state banking agencies. The campus includes a 350‑room extended‑stay style residence center for students and instructors attending classes at the Virginia Square campus.

Situated on 9.5 acres, the Virginia Square campus is a short drive from FDIC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is easily accessible by public transportation at the Virginia Square Metro stop on the Orange Line. Both FDIC locations host training, meetings, and corporate events.

Position Summary

As the Conference Planning Manager, you will support the team at the FDIC Training Center in Arlington, VA, coordinating all special event requests and working closely with Senior Conference Planning Manager, Executive Chef, and Food & Beverage Manager to meet account needs.

Compensation

Salary range: $69,000 to $79,000
. This is Aramark’s good faith estimate as of posting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of event budgets, track expenses, and review and ensure timely payment of event invoices.
  • Build detailed project plans that keep stakeholders aligned on timelines and deliverables. Develop run‑of‑show documents and production schedules to ensure flawless delivery.
  • Coordinate and detail all event logistics, to include, but not limited to, audio‑visual requirements, room configurations, supply needs, meeting content, etc.
  • Manage event registration, attendee communication, rooming lists, food & beverage, graphic materials, security, parking, and other event needs.
  • Handle event walk‑throughs, dry‑runs, and pre‑conference meetings with stakeholders, when applicable.
  • Serve as the primary owner for execution and day‑of coordination and liaise with internal teams.
  • Conduct post‑event debrief with clients to measure and report event performance, and review client/attendee feedback to improve processes, engagement, and overall event impact.
  • Attend weekly and daily coordination meetings with the team to review changes and questions for assigned events.
  • Adhere to the client’s established policies and approval requirements for planning and conducting conferences and events.
  • Perform the above as well as additional duties assigned by the Conference Services Director.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree.
  • 3‑4 years of professional event‑planning experience, including multi‑day conferences and virtual events.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Applicant must meet the client’s conditions of employment process (government fingerprint and background check – Taxcompliance report).

Education:

Bachelors preferred.
