Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Specialist
.
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 3 years of experience or a Master’s degree with minimum of 1 year, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in:
- government acquisitions, supply chain management, subcontracts or contracts administration, or a closely related field.
- Experience with Government purchasing and contracting.
- Experience in administering high dollar value Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.
- Experience with Critical Path Management, FAR and DFARS.
- Experience analyzing data to formulate and execute effective negotiation strategies.
- 2 years of experience negotiating terms and conditions in a corporate setting.
- Experience in critical thinking and innovative behaviors in supply chain projects or roles.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system.
- Experience in MS Office suite.
- Source and procure various commodities and services in support of contracts.
- Proficiency in procurement procedures and processes, including price analysis, commercial determination, negotiations, and navigating Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements based on procurement thresholds.
- Ability to proficiently establish CPSR compliant procurement packages exceeding $2.5M.
- Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals, evaluate supplier responses, and analyzes to meet solicitation requirements.
- Work with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
- Manage performance of purchase orders, ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
- Interfacing and collaborating with Programs and other organizations within and outside of Procurement organization.
- Plan, schedule, and arrange activities to accomplish objectives.
- Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be extremely organized.
- Employ sound business practices and assess supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
