Position: PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL ASSISTANT with Security Clearance
Duties
* Plans, organizes and managed front office administrative and executive support services, functions and activities for the AF/DS.
* Responsibilities include overall administrative management of developing Headquarters Air Force Director of Staff office resource requirements necessary to meet administrative and mission program goals and objectives.
* Serves as the authority and advises staff on the interpretation and applicability of policies and procedures governing the preparation and processing of correspondence, electronic messages, and reports.
* Effectively communicates complex information, concepts or ideas in a confident, well-organized manner. Exercises multi-tasking and decision-making in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* The work is performed in a typical office setting.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* Position occasionally requires incumbent to work overtime.
* This position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206).
* Special Sensitive Security Clearances. The investigative requirement CANNOT be waived for special sensitive positions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS/SCI) clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
* This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing.
* The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing as a condition of employment in accordance with AFM 44-198, Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes (1) working with organizational goals and objectives, management principles, practices, methods, and techniques; integrating administrative services with the general management of the organization; (2) developing new or modified work methods, organizational structures, management processes, and/or program administrative procedures;

(3) use interpreting and explaining, applicable regulations, administrative guidance, policies, and procedures concerning a wide variety of issues, initiatives, and topics that support the organization's operations and mission. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in
-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
