Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Arlington, VA. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's general ledger accounting, month‑end close, and financial reporting activities, with limited but meaningful exposure to grant accounting. This role partners closely with finance leadership and program teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and timely support of grant‑related tracking and reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong core accounting skills and is comfortable supporting grants without being a dedicated grants specialist.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month‑end close
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
