Summary: This position oversees membership dues and unrestricted accounts receivable, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, detailed account analysis, and timely general ledger postings. The role leads complex balance sheet reconciliations, strengthens internal controls, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accounting Manager provides technical accounting guidance, drives process improvements, and partners closely with the Senior Director of Accounting Operations on financial reporting, compliance, and cross‑functional accounting initiatives.

Anticipated salary: $95,700 Extended experience: up to $112,100 if experience exceeds expectations

Principal Functions:

  • Oversee and manage unrestricted accounts receivable billing within Jamis, including setup and maintenance of customer accounts, invoicing, cash application, aging analysis, and reconciliation
  • Maintain and analyze Jamis-based dashboards and aging reports, leveraging system reporting tools to provide management with timely visibility into billings, collections, and past-due balances, and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Serve as the primary owner of PROTECH processing activities, ensuring accurate data entry, validation, and reconciliation in coordination with and under the oversight of the Sr. Director of Accounting
  • Perform and review detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules, investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely clearing of reconciling items
  • Support and maintain Jamis configurations related to accounts receivable, unrestricted revenue, and general ledger, including assisting with testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of system enhancements or upgrades
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, including invoice review, workflow approvals, and data entry during peak periods to ensure uninterrupted processing
  • Support the annual audit by generating reports and schedules, ensuring data integrity, and responding to auditor inquiries related to system controls and transaction flows
  • Assist with grant close-outs and reconciliations, ensuring accurate posting, proper revenue and expense matching, and compliance with grant requirements
  • Partner with the Finance Department Leadership to identify opportunities to optimize ERP functionality, strengthen internal controls, and improve accounting workflows through automation and system-driven solutions

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related fields from an accredited university preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive relevant work experience in accounting and non-profit or related organizational experience highly desirable
  • Ability to perform accounting processes and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner; and ability to function effectively in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of grants accounting
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with systems/processes improvement initiatives, including accounting software
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
