Join the North Central Texas Council of Governments as a Transportation Planner I – Safety.
The Transportation Department is seeking a Transportation Planner to support the Transportation Safety Program. This position will support the development and implementation of regional transportation safety coordination efforts and initiatives.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with the collection and maintenance of regional safety data
- Assisting with regional and federal safety performance tracking and reporting requirements
- Assisting with the maintenance and update of the Regional Roadway Safety Plan
- Working with supervisor to monitor local government program activities
- Working with supervisor to analyze and monitor the Wrong Way Driving Mitigation Project and Intersection Safety Improvement Program countermeasure effectiveness
- Supporting the implementation of activities for the NCTCOG Traffic Incident Management Training Program
- Supporting coordination activities for the Mobility Assistance Patrol Program (MAPP), including data collection
- Assisting with the collection of regional incident management performance measures
- Working with supervisor to develop the regional annual safety performance measures report
- Assisting with coordination efforts related to the Regional Safety Advisory Committee, safety projects, initiatives and data requests
- Supporting the coordination with regional partners and the general public to promote transportation safety related activities and initiatives
- Working with supervisor to compile and maintain databases and spreadsheets
- Working with supervisor to develop charts, maps, plots, and reports utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Drafting presentations and written documents for supervisor review
Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Working knowledge of ESRI GIS
- Good analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, highly organized, with an ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks
- Good communication, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Required
Education And Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods
- One year or less of work-related experience
Starting Salary Range:
Minimum of $47,618.00 - $57,141.60 annually
