Personal Trainer
POSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Person al Trainer at the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA serves others by welcoming, connecting, supporting, and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.

- Create a safe environment where all individuals feel welcomed and respected; build relationships with members and program participants.
- Screen individuals' medical histories and health status; administer fitness assessments and counsel regarding results.
- Lead effective and safe individual and group training sessions to meet clients' objectives, following program guidelines and operating equipment properly.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
- Understand different health needs; observe and adapt training intensity to support all participants' capabilities, conditions, and cultures.
- Provide clear explanations and exercise demonstrations with proper form and technique.
- Remain alert and attentive to all participants.
- Engage with questions and display empathy to help members build confidence in their health and wellness goals.
- Identify and celebrate members' successes.
- Maintain knowledge of wellness trends to provide effective support.
- Communicate YMCA policies, programs, and events to clients.
- Keep accurate training records.
- Follow YMCA policies and respond to emergencies.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must be at least 18 years old
- National personal training certification from recognized agencies (e.g., ACE, NASM, NSCA, etc.)
- Successful interview and practical skills demonstration
- Related degree or relevant experience preferred
- Compliance with YMCA standards
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to develop positive relationships with diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to inclusion and ADA compliance
- CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certifications and other trainings within 30 days of hire
