** JOB SUMMARY
** Under general supervision, the Crime Analysis Supervisor leads a team of analysts responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating crime data and intelligence. This role focuses on identifying patterns and trends to support law enforcement operations, analyzing the underlying causes of recurring crime issues, and developing tailored, proactive strategies to address them. The position also emphasizes interagency collaboration by partnering with external law enforcement agencies, government entities, and community organizations to share intelligence and coordinate efforts.
Additionally, the Crime Analysis Supervisor designs crime prevention strategies and implements innovative analytical methods using advanced technology and resources.

* ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
*** Supervises a team of crime and intelligence analysts in monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating patterns and trends of criminal activity across all patrol divisions including but not limited to: + Manages and evaluates the application of statistical analysis (using quantitative methods to interpret data), + Temporal analysis (examining crime patterns over time, such as daily, weekly, or seasonal trends) + Spatial analysis (mapping crime locations to identify geographic hotspots and distributions) + Methodologies;
develops and oversees the maintenance of automated files, databases, spreadsheets, and related systems to support data-driven decision-making.
* Manages the preparation of comprehensive analytical products, reports, and crime bulletins including but not limited to: + Approves investigative recommendations derived from analytical findings; organizes and delivers oral briefings and presentations. + Ensures timely dissemination of information on suspects, patterns, trends, and intelligence to relevant stakeholders.
* Directs the access and integration of data from diverse law enforcement agencies and external sources including but not limited to: + Reviews and evaluates reports. + Register and records pertaining to criminal activity to inform strategic initiatives.
* Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates Crime and Intelligence Analysts, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Implements innovative analytical procedures, including but not limited to: + Predictive modeling. + GIS mapping, link analysis (identifying relationships between entities such as suspects, locations, and events through diagrams). + The use of specialized software to enhance crime prevention strategies and support operational objectives in accordance with industry best practices.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
*** Plans, directs, monitors, and provides management oversight for the Crime Analysis Unit, including personnel management such as hiring, performance evaluations, discipline, rule making, safety assurance, and fostering a collaborative team environment that supports problem-oriented policing and inter-agency collaboration.
* Oversees responses to requests for crime information ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, disclosure policies, and best practices for information security from including but not limited to: + The news media + Civic organizations. + The general public + Outside agencies
* Conducts and participates in formal, informal, or on-the-job training in communications, analytical techniques, software tools, and emerging trends in crime analysis to enhance team capabilities and align with industry standards.
