Job Description

The Senior Electronic Security Technician plays a critical hands‑on role supporting the deployment, activation, and servicing of enterprise‑level integrated security systems in complex customer environments. This individual will lead field execution activities, oversee installation quality, and ensure systems are fully operational and commissioned according to project specifications.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include system programming, device installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of high‑end access control and video management platforms. The technician will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of security integration projects.

This role is ideal for an experienced field technician who enjoys solving technical challenges, working independently in dynamic environments, and supporting large‑scale security infrastructure deployments that directly impact customer safety and operational continuity.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide field oversight during electronic security system installations and upgrades.
  • Program and configure enterprise access control and video management systems.
  • Perform system activation, commissioning, and final testing activities.
  • Install and service integrated security field devices and supporting infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network‑related system issues.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractor work activities on‑site.
  • Ensure installations comply with industry standards and local electronic security codes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and project updates.
  • Support customers through maintenance and service‑related activities.
  • Travel to project locations as required.
Required Experience / Skills
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience installing and maintaining enterprise electronic security systems.
  • Minimum 3+ years supervising subcontractors or field installation teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise access control platforms.
  • Experience supporting IP‑based video management systems.
  • Experience with intrusion detection systems (fiber and copper‑based).
  • Working knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with electronic security industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
  • Experience working in industrial or chemical plant environments.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project, and Microsoft Office tools.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Certifications in Genetec, Software House, Lenel, Open Options, or Pro Watch.
  • Experience with Avigilon security platforms.
  • Video Management System certifications (Genetec, OnSSI, Max Pro, Milestone).
  • Intrusion Detection certifications (Senstar, Optellios, FFT).
  • Experience with network design or system implementation.
  • Active TWIC Card.
  • Experience supporting regulated or mission‑critical facilities.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification, vocational training, or related field education preferred.
