HVAC Light Commercial Technician – Air Co Air Conditioning, Heating, and Plumbing
Join Air Co as an HVAC Light Commercial Technician. Provide maintenance and service to commercial HVAC systems up to 50 tons, deliver a high‑quality customer experience, and perform diagnostic calls as required.
Job SummaryWork independently providing maintenance on commercial heating and air‑conditioning systems according to company standards, delivering a high‑quality experience to customers. Possible diagnostic calls in some situations. No chiller experience required.
Position Type & HoursFull‑time, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (weeknights, weekends, evenings as needed).
Required Qualifications & Experience- Pass drug and background checks.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable through company insurance carrier.
- Minimum 1 year of HVAC commercial service work.
- Clear written and verbal English communication.
- Ability to work safely with tools used in the job.
- Completion of HVAC training program.
- Arrive at job sites at scheduled times and locations.
- Move between job sites during the workday.
- Report to dispatcher upon arrival and departure.
- Operate company vehicle as needed.
- Follow supervisor/dispatcher instructions and complete tasks timely.
- Report problems with company tools or vehicle promptly.
- Report equipment issues to Service Dispatcher to expedite parts.
- Communicate with customers and collect COD on maintenance and service visits as directed.
- Work staggered schedule if required.
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude.
- Complete all service‑related forms correctly.
- Provide new or renew maintenance agreements to customers.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on light commercial equipment with minimal assistance, including completion of checklists.
- Inform and educate customers on additional products or services.
- Inform customers of replacement options following company guidelines.
- Serve as on‑call status for emergency service as required.
- Develop basic knowledge and ability to lay out and install low‑voltage wiring.
- Develop basic diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques.
- Interpret testing devices properly.
- Build soldering skills.
- Enhance customer service skills.
- Change filters using filter checklists unassisted.
- Perform planned maintenance with assistance from a service technician.
- Acquire commercial planned maintenance agreements.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams.
