Position Summary:The Director of Sales role requires exceptional management of sales performance among sales staff. This position is responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing the talent of their sales associates to achieve planned growth within their district.
Essential Functions:- Manages the performance and development of the Sales Team within the specified sales area.
- Effectively lead and facilitate meetings that educate, motivate and ultimately produce key behavior changes to drive sales.
- Lead and direct customer engagement efforts by enabling the district sales staff to provide customers with expanded service options.
- Fully leverages the management of sales planning, prospecting and daily customer engagement and expects productive utilization of staff.
- Accountable for providing coaching, training, and timely feedback to drive sales staff development of consultative selling skills of the sales associates (sales process).
- Directly manages and engages critical/developing customer accounts, and ensures proper management of all other accounts in the sales area.
- Implements changes to programs or processes; ensuring all sales staff achieve required behavior changes and performance metrics within the sales area.
- Directly manage the performance and duties of the sales staff.
- Perform any other duties as required.
- Must have industry and segment knowledge and be able to analyze and interpret data and aggressively develop new business.
- Must be a strategic thinker in order to build relationships, network, and link resources to plan and execute business practices and achieve business goals.
- Meat and/or Seafood industry experience required
- Must have the ability to multitask, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment.
- Experience with commodity markets and forecasting models; and ability to translate those to make decisions is ideal.
- Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills as well as problem solving capabilities
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and speak to customers both internal and external as a department representative.
