Wild Birds Unlimited is seeking an organized and reliable Backroom Associate
, to support the store's operations. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that our backroom is well‑organized and stocked, which helps create a seamless experience for our customers. If you’re a self‑starter, organized person with attention to detail

• Receive, unpack, and organize shipments of birding products and merchandise.
• Label/tag merchandise and check for consistency throughout the store.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the backroom, ensuring that inventory is properly stored and easily accessible.
• Assist with restocking the sales floor by replenishing merchandise when necessary.
• Accurately label products and track inventory levels, work with manager on re‑orders.
• Collaborate with store associates to fulfill customer orders and prepare products for pickup or shipment.
• Help maintain overall store organization and cleanliness.
• Position includes working the sales floor as well as the backroom.
• Deliver outstanding customer service: greet and assist customers, and provide expert advice on bird feeding, birdwatching, and nature‑related products.

• Must have at least 3 to 5 years of sales experience. Supervisory or management experience is preferred; position offers opportunity for advancement. However, if you have strong leadership abilities we can train you for advancement.
• Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills and be a self‑starter.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 20–50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and be able to work weekends and holidays. Hours may be flexible but will include opening, closing, working weekends, holidays and peak sales.
• Must be proficient on a computer including experience with Excel and Word at an intermediate level.
• Must be able to talk to customers and have customer service experience.
• Experience in backyard bird feeding is preferred or a desire to learn and be engaged in the hobby is preferred; we will train you on specifics.
