Macdonald & Company is pleased to be exclusively retained by a commercial real estate investment and development firm specializing in retail acquisition and development to identify and appoint a Development Partner to spearhead its growth into the DFW market and beyond.

Job Summary

Are you an experienced real estate professional who’s mastered deal-making but feels limited by commission caps, corporate constraints, or a lack of access to capital? Our client is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial dealmaker with deep market knowledge and an established network across the DFW region. Whether you come from a tenant representation background, have led site selection for a national retailer, or managed acquisitions for an investment group, this role offers a clear path to ownership, execution, and long-term upside.

You bring the relationships, instincts, and deal flow — they’ll provide the platform, capital, and operational support to help you grow into a full‑fledged developer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and secure new commercial development opportunities through your network and market insights
  • Lead site selection, due diligence, and deal negotiation processes
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key regional and national retail clients
  • Drive build‑to‑suit, ground lease, and other retail‑focused development deals across multiple markets
  • Collaborate with internal development, legal, and construction teams to move projects efficiently through the pipeline
  • Represent the company with brokers, tenants, municipalities, and property owners
  • Maintain deal pipeline, contacts, and activity within the CRM system
Ideal Background
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate (brokerage, tenant rep, acquisitions, or corporate real estate)
  • Strong transaction history with successful BTS, lease, or acquisition deals
  • Deep understanding of site selection, entitlement, and development processes
  • Proven ability to originate deals, manage pipelines, and deliver results independently
  • Based in the DFW area with flexibility to travel as needed
