Responsibilities
Millwood Hospital (a UHS Facility) is a 134‑bed mental health facility that provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment. Since 1971 the multidisciplinary staff has successfully treated children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Located in Arlington, TX, the hospital is within 35 minutes of DFW International Airport and is a Joint Commission accredited facility.
The Nurse ManagerThe Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice, and hospital policy. This position assists in contributing to the hospital’s philosophy, objectives, educational and performance improvement efforts while providing supervision of House Supervisors, RNs, and MHTs.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring staffing needs on assigned shifts
- Assisting the CNO/ADON in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing hospital training events for all RN/MHT staff
- Providing on‑as‑needed patient nursing assessments
- Participating in Treatment Team meetings as needed
- Attending full hospital and departmental orientations:
Week 1 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–5 PM) and Week 2 (Mon & Tue 9 AM–5 PM)

Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing school is required;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including staff education, educational concepts, practices, procedures, and 24‑hour shift staffing.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of JCAHO, HCFA, OSHA, and state/federal regulatory requirements. CPR certification within 30 days of employment and completion of Management of Assaultive Behavior (CPI) Crisis Prevention Intervention and Service Excellence Training within 90 days of employment.
