Position: Registered Nurse (RN) -SUD Day Shift

Responsibilities

Who We Are: Millwood Hospital (a UHS Facility) is a 134-bed mental health facility that provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment. Millwood’s caring, multidisciplinary staff has successfully provided inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults since 1971. Millwood Hospital is located in Arlington, TX and is 5 minutes away from the AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

The hospital is less than 35 minutes from DFW International Airport. Millwood Hospital is a Joint Commission accredited hospital with a solid reputation in the community and is part of one of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc.

Position Summary: The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.

Must be available to attend the Full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM
Week 2: M & Tu 9 AM - 5 PM

Work Hours:

Day Shift, Rotating Weeks - 12 hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), Weekends Required (days vary)

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Education:

    Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required;
    Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of three (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility preferred.
  • Licensure:
    Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Additional Requirements:

    CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 30 days of employment;
    Successful completion of CPI training and Service Excellence Training within 90 days of employment. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
