Programand Role Summary
Our Home Study and Post Release Services (HS/PRS) program focuses on unaccompanied children aged 0–17 1/2. Children referred through shelters or trust foster care providers receive ongoing support from ORR to their parents or sponsors. The Regional Director will oversee a team of Case Managers who assist youth and families to experience a safe transition out of ORR care and into their communities.
The role includes leading, training, and guiding the team and supporting the Assistant Vice President.
- Oversee the assignment of unaccompanied children referrals
- Lead, train, and provide guidance to program staff
- Supervise the work of Case Managers and Assistant Regional Director(s) within the region
- Ensure staff comply with agency and regulatory policies and procedures
- Assist staff in managing crises on their caseloads
- Perform administrative or executive tasks, including confidential trend/quarterly reports
- Conduct weekly audits to ensure all assessments, reports, and team case notes are current in hardcopy and electronic files
- Communicate with ORR and other vendors; meet all deadlines required by ORR, state licensing, and federal partners
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, VP of HS/PRS, senior/executive leadership, or the Deputy for Federal Programs
- Master's degree in a related field required
- Three years of relevant, progressive experience required
- Experience conducting home studies required
- Experience working with immigrant populations required
- Strong administrative experience
- Knowledge of family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to work well with people from diverse cultures, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ+ children
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or other language required;
English writing proficiency required - Valid driver’s license in the region with access to a personal, reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel domestically for work-related matters
- Computer work; sit at a desk for long periods
- Time on your feet for several hours a day
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Travel to conduct client and family services, including driving or public transportation
- Exempt position
- Regular hours Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, flexible to meet program needs
- In-office presence required a minimum of 4 days per week as needed
- Evenings, afternoons, weekends may be required
