Partner at The ODA Group -The ODA Group has partnered with is a North Dallas-based healthcare firm that is looking for an SVP of Accounting. The firm is experiencing strong growth, with 70+ clinics across 13 states and counting. This role is central to ensuring the financial infrastructure scales with the company growth—leading all aspects of accounting, reporting, controls, and integration as they continue expanding through acquisition and organic growth.
This position will partner with senior leaders to strengthen financial discipline, optimize systems and processes, and support strategic decision‑making across the enterprise. This role will work in a hybrid environment (2 days in office).
Summary of Position
:
The Senior Vice President of Accounting is a senior financial leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and control for PE backed firm. This executive will lead strategic accounting initiatives to support growth in a dynamic, private equity–backed healthcare organization. The SVP of Accounting partners closely with senior executives to drive scalability, ensure financial integrity, and integrate new acquisitions across a multi‑site platform.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and experience operating within a private equity environment. They will play a pivotal role in building a high‑performing accounting organization to support the company’s continued expansion and success.
Key Responsibilities
:
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on accounting strategy, risk management, and business integration.
- Lead the enterprise‑wide accounting function, overseeing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support decision‑making and operational excellence.
- Partner with FP&A to enhance financial forecasting, reporting, and business analytics capabilities.
- Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Direct preparation of consolidated financial statements for a multi‑entity healthcare organization.
- Lead preparation and presentation of board and lender reporting packages.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX‑equivalent standards for private equity‑backed operations.
- Manage annual financial audits and relationships with external auditors.
- Facilitate the preparation of annual tax returns with external tax team.
Private Equity, M&A, and Integration
- Partner with private equity sponsors to deliver on key value‑creation initiatives and reporting requirements.
- Lead financial due diligence, acquisition accounting, and post‑close integration of new clinics and entities.
- Establish scalable accounting processes that accommodate growth through acquisition and organic expansion.
Systems, Processes, and Technology
- Drive optimization of accounting systems and automation tools, including ERP and EMR financial integrations.
- Champion continuous process improvement and standardization across all operating sites.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with IT and operations to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing accounting team to achieve excellence in execution and professional growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the team is structured and resourced to support the company’s rapid growth and evolving needs.
Qualifications
:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or Master’s in Accounting strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive accounting leadership experience
, including at least 5 years in a Controller, Senior Director, or VP‑level role
. - Experience in private equity‑backed or multi‑site healthcare organizations is required.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong command of GAAP, consolidation accounting, revenue recognition, and healthcare financial operations.
- Proven success in leading audits, implementing internal controls, and optimizing financial systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Net Suite, or similar ERP platforms).
