Perform Simulator Technician duties during preliminary/critical design, Hardware/Software Integration (H.S.I.), and customer acceptance phases of a program (in‑house and at site). Provide technical/system support for assigned devices.
Responsibilities- Provide lab maintenance/engineering support during program Hardware/Software Integration (HSI).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network/computer systems.
- Apply fundamental troubleshooting procedures in the maintenance of interfaces and peripheral equipment used with computers; interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electric motion module, electrical and electronic schematics and drawings and create simplified versions.
- Perform calibrations, adjustments, and tests on electronic equipment; analyze operation, verify discrepancies, isolate malfunctions, and replace defective components used in electronic devices; test and repair linear computing elements, phase inverters and operational amplifiers.
- Read and interpret various technical documents.
- Identify and generate documentation to correct hardware deficiencies and test discrepancies.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Collaborate with engineering team to accomplish required system redesign tasks.
- Work proficiently with Windows‑based computer systems.
- Assist manufacturing during teardown, packing, and shipping activities.
- Support manufacturing during final assembly phase of site installations.
- Perform device power‑up and hardware checkout at both component and system level.
- Maintain operational device readiness during all testing activities.
- Provide training to other team members of the department.
- Work with little or no supervision.
- Perform shift and weekend work when required.
- Associate degree in a technically related field or equivalent.
- 2‑4 years of experience in a related field.
- Good written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to give effective verbal and written presentations on technical topics to supervisors and peers.
- Eligibility for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport.
- Willingness to perform extensive travel.
- Comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures.
- Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form.
- Do not divulge any information or afford access to other employees without a need‑to‑know or management approval.
- All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company‑provided resources.
- Work in areas with the risk of electrical shock, near moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure and in precarious places.
- Exposure to extreme cold or heat, outdoor weather, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noises.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Lift 50 lbs. and occasionally move items over 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Require clear close‑range vision and color vision.
- Capable of climbing ladders.
- Use precision hand tools.
- Discern various aircraft aural cues.
