Overview
Document Automation Specialist - Information Technology - Dallas
We are seeking a Document Automation Specialist to automate standard documents, amend existing automated content, and test content for regular releases. Ensure best practices and operational efficiency for our document assembly program. The successful candidate will have significant experience in a legal services environment. Training will be provided by internal document automation team.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Firm's attorneys and practice group liaisons to promote document automation solutions both within the business and as a client facing solution
- Support attorneys and practice groups to automate their standard documents and to keep their respective collections accurate and up to date
- Develop and manage timelines for creation of document templates
- Provide training to attorneys on how to mark up a document for automation and provide advice on best practices for document automation
- Create and manipulate online questionnaires for use with automated documents to provide users with the most effective and efficient user experience
- Deconstruct a document into its component parts and apply logic to the underlying structure to assess the level of automation required and to create the automation design
- Understand the relevance of component parts of the document and apply logic to those relevancies in order to create optimal automation
- Research and investigate new procedures or services that can improve efficiency and document quality
- Test document automation; record and resolve errors in automation
- Complete all aspects of document automation, including coding, testing and error resolution, managing the transition of the automated document to production, end-user training and create the relevant documentation
- Support the administration and end-user management of the document automation system for internal and client use
- Ensure that the organization and administration of the templates and documents is designed for future growth and enhancements; ensure the correct levels of access are granted to end-users (user/editor/administrator); provide usage reports as needed
- Be a team player communicating with the Forms Automation team on incoming projects
- Update project management database with status of projects
- Bachelor's degree, J.D., or paralegal certificate preferred
- Expertise in Microsoft Word
- Experience in document automation software such as Contract Express or Hot Docs preferred
- Advanced project management skills, including the ability to juggle many projects at one time and meet all deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and delivery of high-quality work
- Experience and knowledge of working with legal documents with the ability to deconstruct the content into its component parts
- Excellent English writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to work off-hours if needed for urgent projects
