The Ultrasound Tech works in conjunction with the Chief Tech, Imaging Manager, Director and Medical Staff to improve the patient and work flow via providing support, education and leadership to the technical staff. Supports the mission and vision of the Medical Center of Arlington. Perform sonography/vascular procedures as outlined by the State of Texas and departmental protocols, which include but are not limited to neurological disorders and stroke, oncologic and cardiac services.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the customer needs of the Ultrasound area of the Imaging Department.
- Demonstrates knowledge of clinical procedures, equipment and policies - Hospital and Department - that are necessary for job performance, which include but are not limited to neurological disorders and stroke, oncologic and cardiac services.
- Collaborates with other department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Maintains and achieves daily productivity and quality assurance standards set by management.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform, the assigned duties.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician, or (RVS) Registered Vascular Specialist, or Vocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree
- No Travel Required
- No experience required
