Coordinator I of Special Programs for Environmental, Safety and Health Overview
Position Information
Location Arlington
Position Status Full-time
Work Schedule Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm.
Hybrid – eligible for remote schedule two (2) days a week.
Based on funding availability, the position is to end on 09/30/2027.
Salary is commensurate based upon qualifications and relevant experience up to $48,000.

- Coordinates Pollution Prevention (P2) grant and Occupational Safety and Health program activities, including schedules, course implementation, project deliverables, and engagement with participants, instructors and stakeholders.
- Organizes and facilitates meetings, workshops, and training sessions; prepares and disseminates educational materials, records, and course documentation (class rosters, tests, course evaluations, instructor information); confirms prerequisite requirements for course participants.
- Assists in planning and implementing activities outlined by grants and projects; coordinates project schedules and ensures timely completion of deliverables; monitors progress and reports on program activities.
- Communicates with customers, course participants, host training sites, and instructors to prioritize and resolve issues; collaborates with stakeholders to foster partnerships and engagement; conducts outreach and marketing activities to promote programs, services, and practices to secure participation; moderates virtual training sessions and provides instructor support.
- Maintains project records, tracks expenses, and compiles data for reports; ensures compliance with grant and program requirements and deadlines; assists in management of student workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, business or relevant discipline from an accredited college or university.
- One (1) year experience in project management, coordinating schedules, and managing multiple priorities or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Master’s degree in business, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of professional experience in pollution prevention or occupational safety and health practices or training.
- Experience interacting professionally with internal and external customers.
Skills and Abilities
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams; databases and data entry.
- Must be self-motivated, highly organized, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn pollution prevention and occupational safety and health concepts and practices.
- Ability to learn and appropriately implement UTA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules, regulations and procedures.
- Skill in project management.
- Skill in communication and interpersonal abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Skill in organization; attention to detail; reviewing and analyzing records; determining proper courses of action; and managing time and assignments to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clients, customers, coworkers to gather information and/or explain policies and procedures.
- Integrate complex concepts, procedures, and processes.
- Exercise independent judgement and initiative with minimal supervision. Adheres to institutional paper and electronic file management requirements.
