Phlebotomist PRN – Medical City Healthcare

Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing. Transport, process, and perform clerical duties as necessary for testing patient samples. Report to:
Lead Phlebotomist, Lab Manager and Laboratory Director.

Part‑time

• Greet patients and instruct them in specimen collection methods.
• Draw blood specimens by finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
• Label specimens for identification and enter specimen data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
• Assist with clerical duties, including answering telephone calls.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience, or certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Acute‑care hospital experience strongly preferred.
• Skilled phlebotomy technique; BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
