Cook - Behavioral Hospital

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is a psychiatric hospital located in Arlington, Texas, providing inpatient programs for children, adolescents, and adults. We are seeking a dedicated, full‑time Dietary Cook to help improve patient lives through a patient‑centered, collaborative approach to high‑quality care.

• Follow menus and recipes as provided by the Dietary Manager and Dietician.
• Prepare meals and beverages according to menu cycle and daily production sheet, ensuring attractive and tasteful meals.
• Accurately prepare food for modified diets, consulting with the Dietary Manager as needed.
• Complete and prepare meals in a timely manner as prescribed by posted meal times.
• Follow the posted cleaning schedule and maintain a clean work area and dining room at all times.
• Document refrigeration and dish machine temperatures according to posted schedules.
• Adhere to standards for food temperatures during cooking, serving, and storage of leftovers.
• Maintain walk‑in freezer and storerooms in an orderly fashion, and properly date and label all food items.
• Apply appropriate portion control and avoid over‑production.
• Comply with established guidelines for sanitation and safety.
• Interact with patients in the serving line, helping them select a nutritionally balanced meal.
• Support and encourage harmonious working relationships within the department and with all employees in the facility.
• Aid with washing dishes and maintaining dish room in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Assure continued cleanliness of the dining room and food preparation area.
• Assist with other tasks as directed by the Cook or Dietary Manager.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Food Handler's Certification.
• At least 1 year of commercial food service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Shows a professional service‑excellence attitude.
