Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN Days at Texas Health Resources.
Work location:
Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital, 811 Wright Street, Arlington, TX 76012.
Work hours:
PRN Day Shift (As Needed).
This role is part of the Respiratory Department and focuses on patient assessment, treatment, documentation, and professional accountability within a team-based, cardiac-focused environment.
What You Will Do- Patient Assessment/Plan of Care:
Obtains/verifies physician orders for therapy and validates appropriateness. Reviews available medical records and obtains pertinent medical history from patient or family. - Patient Treatment:
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and treatment needs. Performs treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license. - Documentation:
Verifies physician orders prior to delivery of care and documents aspects of each treatment session in accordance with departmental, JCAHO, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines. - Professional Accountability:
Utilizes available resources to maximize efficiency and productivity and meets departmental needs. Participates in orientation and training of students and new employees. - Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program (required).
- CVICU/ICU experience strongly preferred.
- RCP – Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire (required)
- RRT – Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire (required)
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (required)
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire (preferred)
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program upon hire (preferred)
Team-based environment with a cardiac focus. Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is a separately licensed hospital located on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. The facility includes a 20-bed Cardiovascular ICU and a 27-bed cardiac telemetry unit, and is accredited for Chest Pain through The Joint Commission. The organization has received AHA Gold Plus awards for Heart Failure (three years in a row) and other recognitions.
