The Activity Therapist will be responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic recreation programming, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

• Communicate changes in patient’s condition to Director of Clinical Services and interdisciplinary treatment team
• Provide feedback regarding patient response to therapy, treatment interventions, and therapeutic objectives to the interdisciplinary treatment team
• Provide assessment in psychosocial/leisure and recreation skills development/deficiency
• Ensure timely documentation of interventions and ensure interventions are based on the patient’s plan of care
• Teach coping skills and stress management techniques to patients and display a balanced leisure lifestyle
• Utilize advanced knowledge of counseling and therapeutic concepts and methods for determining therapeutic services for psychiatric, traumatic, and chemically dependent patients
• Demonstrate knowledge of group dynamics as well as therapy and practice of group processing

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art, or Occupational Therapy preferred.
• One (1) year of related experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.
• MUST be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

$16- $18 per hour
