The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking a summer intern to provide support for regional projects funded with Regional Toll Revenues. The student in this position will assist with collecting, organizing, and analyzing project data and coordinate with local governments on final steps to complete transportation projects. This internship will provide a student with valuable experience on how transportation projects are funded for the Dallas‑Fort Worth region.

Ideal candidates should live within the Dallas‑Fort Worth Region and be able to work at least 20 – 25 hours a week from approximately mid‑May to mid‑August 2026. Continuing employment opportunities may be available for interns who are successful in this position and live in the Dallas‑Fort Worth region.
ResponsibilitiesMay include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Gathering, summarizing, and analyzing project data
- Working with supervisor to analyze Regional Toll Revenue portfolio
- Working with supervisor to compile and summarize monthly balance reports
- Drafting and preparing documents such as letters of concurrence, change lists, and analytical charts/reports for supervisor review
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Good communication, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills, with ability to listen to instructions, coordinate with other team members, and present ideas
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Detail oriented, highly organized, with an ability to handle multiple assignments/tasks and work well in a deadline driven environment without diminishing quality of work
Education and Experience
- Must be attending an accredited college or university in a degree‑seeking program during employment
- No work experience required
- At least one year of school‑related experience
Minimum of $17.10 per hour

The planning area for transportation includes the 12 counties of Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise.
