KUAS

Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems (KUAS), a division of Kratos Defense, is renowned for its expertise in developing, delivering, integrating, and supporting high-performance, cost-effective, jet-powered Unmanned Aerial Systems (Targets and Tactical). We deliver aircraft to the US military and global allies and partners, including jet-powered subscale targets.

Position

The Program Manager II works on programs of varying complexity with a focus on technical, cost, schedule performance, and business growth on assigned programs.

Essential Job Functions
  • Defines program/project objectives, creates and maintains the program plan/schedule, and directly manages the program budget to meet objectives.
  • Issues project instructions and controls changes to project scope and designs in compliance with the established quality system.
  • Ensures the program/project team achieves objectives for scheduling, engineering, quality, and cost control.
  • Breaks work down into manageable tasks, assigns and/or directs the work of others.
  • Ensures satisfaction of all contractual and Statement of Work (SOW) requirements.
  • Establishes a risk management program and mitigates all risks.
  • Reports program status and performance as required by contract or management.
  • Interfaces with the customer and other company personnel on technical, production, and procurement issues.
  • Coordinates cost estimates (labor & material) for out-of-scope activities or future work.
  • Manages root cause analysis on nonconforming product and takes corrective action.
  • Keeps customers informed of program schedules and status.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data using computer systems.
  • Coordinates and leads meetings to plan and communicate all aspects of assigned projects.
  • Works with other internal departments to develop a resource allocation plan.
  • Establishes the earned value baseline and program metrics.
  • Grows existing programs to increase revenues and monitors program performance, taking corrective actions when deviations occur.
  • Coordinates with multiple major contractors and/or Government users; supports subcontractor development and delivery management.
  • Ensures program quality assurance and manages integration and testing of hardware and software.
  • Collaborates with other program managers to develop mutual resource allocation plans; works with contracts personnel on out-of-scope activities and contract deliverables.
  • Oversees receipt, assembly, testing, and quality of deliverable hardware.
  • Follows safety precautions and communicates professionally with all levels of internal and external personnel.

Supervisory Responsibility
  • May have supervisory responsibility for support staff as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Interact effectively with peers and supervisors; interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Adhere to workplace rules and procedures.
  • Understanding of and experience with FAR/DFAR and Contract requirements.
  • High degree of innovation and creativity; strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer relationship development and management skills; ability to influence cross-functionally to meet program requirements.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; proven track record in a high variety, low volume manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of the marketplace, customer needs, objectives, and expectations; ability to provide direction, leadership, and team building; ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and contributors; able to develop program strategy and goals aligned with company objectives; solid presentation skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and as an individual contributor.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship) including meeting all DD254 requirements when applicable.
Preferred
  • Working knowledge of ISO
    9001/AS9100 requirements; leadership in a complex development environment.
  • Familiarity with contract provisions applicable to contracts and subcontracts; strong working knowledge of business financial systems/processes.
  • Leadership experience in the aerospace industry;
