It is the Youth Associate's responsibility to work closely to assist the Youth Pastor in planning, promoting, conducting, and evaluating a well-rounded program of Christian Youth education in the area of Youth Ministry.

• The Associate must have skills and ability for the position.
• The Associate must be able to commit the required hours to the position.
• The Associate must possess personality for age group assigned.
• The Associate is expected to demonstrate a life of abstinence from alcohol and drug use.
• The Associate is expected to demonstrate a life of sexual and moral purity.
• The Associate must be effective in ministry.
• The Associate must have a sense of Call for Ministry.
• The Associate must tithe.
• The Associate must maintain healthy boundaries in relationships with students.
• The Associate is expected to attend Sunday morning services.
• The Associate will be required at Wednesday evening services.
• The Associate will be involved in most ministry activities such as camps, mission trips, etc., as directed by the Youth Pastor.

• Assist in developing a youth calendar of events and activities.
• Work with student and adult leadership to determine goals, objectives, and organization of summer events and programming.
• Outreach:
  Participate in youth/church outreach ministry; contacting students who have visited Lake Church for the first time and seeking to meet their families.
• In-reach:
  Maintain a growing relationship with students through fellowship, making regular contact with students on school campuses, spending time with students during the week, attending sport events, student lunches, etc.
• Assist in supervision, planning and guidance of all youth camps, Disciple Now Weekends, retreats, and other special events.
• Give input in preparation of yearly budget for recommendation to Finance Team.
• Assist in providing counsel and spiritual guidance for youth, parents of youth, and youth staff if needed.
• When available, attend staff meeting with the Youth Pastor.
• A minimum of 10 work hours per week will be required for this position.
• The Youth Pastor and Associate will determine office hours.

• Plan, promote, and supervise all Student Connection Groups.
• Assist the Youth Pastor in planning, coordinating, and conducting Midweek Worship.
• Assist the Youth Pastor in planning, promoting, coordinating, and conducting all special events (i.e. Mission trips, Trilogy Day, Middle School Mania, Retreats, Camps, etc.).
• Assist in administrative duties and office tasks as directed by the Youth Pastor.
• Not leave events until the last student has left or Youth Pastor has dismissed associate.
• Attend at least one campus or school event each week.
• Assist in enlisting and training adult and student leadership.
• Report to Youth Pastor information you've learned about/from youth that would be considered significant, dangerous, or helpful in ministering to students.

Within certain understood parameters, has the authority to answer questions and to relate messages for the Youth Pastor in reference to the youth ministry of Lake Church.
