Job Summary

The Safety & Health Coordinator position provides administrative, operational, and program support to ensure the effective delivery of OSHA‑authorized safety and occupational health, risk management, and environmental training programs. This role serves as a key coordination point between instructors, program leadership, regulatory stakeholders, and participants to support compliant, high-quality training aligned with OSHA, university, and program requirements.

The Safety & Health Coordinator assists with the planning, scheduling, documentation, and logistical execution of in‑person, virtual, and contract training while supporting marketing, reporting, and customer service functions. The position helps maintain accurate records, supports regulatory readiness, and contributes to continuous improvement of program delivery through data tracking, communication support, and operational coordination. Through collaboration with internal teams and external partners, the Coordinator helps ensure training activities are organized, accessible, well‑documented, and responsive to stakeholder needs, supporting the program’s mission to provide high‑quality safety and health education.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, Education, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
  • One (1) or more years of progressively responsible experience in program coordination, training administration, regulatory compliance support, marketing coordination, higher education/non‑credit program operations or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with data collection, reporting, and record‑keeping, including preparation of routine compliance or performance reports requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, Education, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Experience working with OSHA‑authorized training programs, including familiarity with the OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) administrative and reporting requirements. Knowledge of OSHA standards, safety and health training programs, and workforce development initiatives, particularly within higher education, government, or industry‑based training.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and compliance reviews including preparation of documentation, data validation, and response coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of safety, occupational health, risk management, and environmental training programs, including scheduling, enrollment tracking, material preparation, and on‑site or virtual class support.
  • Coordinate course logistics for in‑person, virtual, and contract training to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Conduct reviews of submitted Prerequisite Verification Form documentation for trainer‑level courses to confirm completeness and alignment with established OSHA Outreach Trainer Program and UTA Authorized Trainer requirements.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for live webcasts and virtual training, including class setup, participant and instructor communications, distribution of supporting materials, attendance tracking, and completion of required post‑training documentation.
  • Prepare course documentation such as class rosters, tests, course evaluations, instructor information, and compile the course packet with all required documentation.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and review class climate and course evaluation data, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and actionable insights to support instructional quality, program effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with reviewing participant feedback and program data to help identify opportunities for improving service delivery and instructional quality.
  • Manage work by student workers supporting training delivery, documentation, and record‑keeping requirements.
  • Monitor, distribute, and respond to program mailbox ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication with participants, instructors, partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
