The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Assistant Instructor to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on training, guidance, and mentorship to students pursuing a career as a Medical Assistant. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction, preparing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and ensuring students are prepared for certification and real-world work environments.
- Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training in medical assisting, including clinical procedures, administrative duties, and patient care.
- Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and instructional activities.
- Ensure students gain practical experience with medical equipment, taking vitals, performing injections, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student participation and engagement.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom and lab environment.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through quizzes, exams, practical skills assessments, and projects.
- Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to help students succeed.
- Monitor student attendance and academic progress, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
- Offer career advice and guidance on professional development, including resume building and interview preparation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, trends, and certification requirements for Medical Assistants.
- Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure curriculum aligns with accreditation standards and meets employer needs.
- Maintain student records and documentation as required by accreditation bodies and institutional policies.
- Participate in faculty meetings, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification (required).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Previous teaching or training experience in a classroom or healthcare setting (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for teaching.
- Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear, engaging manner.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, medical equipment, and clinical procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with educational technology and tools, including online learning platforms (preferred).
- This is an in-person role requiring face-to-face interaction with students, located in Arlington and Red Oak, TX.
