DescriptionThe Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is accepting applications for Youth Program Specialist. The Youth Program Specialist is responsible for branch programming; youth program quality, branch operations, and facility and child safety and administrative compliance.
Duties include but are not limited to: providing age‑appropriate services and activities to meet the needs of enrolled members; creating an atmosphere of academic success, health, and fitness; ensuring fidelity of curriculum, programming and activities; implementing YPQ techniques; achieving performance goals; maintaining accurate and timely documentation and reporting; and ensuring facility and child safety. Work sites are located in low‑income areas, challenging neighborhoods, and growth neighborhoods.
The noise level is usually loud. Position requires working with large groups of youth.
- Education:
high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 1 year experience working with youth.
- Ability to work regular program hours with periodic evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to be a positive role model.
- Ability to establish rapport and build relationships.
- Ability to set expectations and boundaries.
- Ability to relate to at‑risk youth.
- Ability to facilitate, teach, or instruct.
- Ability to create programs and activities based on need.
- Efficient with computers and Microsoft Office; knowledge of technology and software such as iPad, tablets, computers, and internet.
- Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must pass agency background screen and drug screen at any time.
- Personal vehicle required; valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Minimum age 21.
Minimum starting pay: $17.00 per hour.
