Business Development Manager at Just Construction | Head of Data Center & Mission Critical Recruitment | MEP | General Contracting | USA

Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to lead our preconstruction efforts. This pivotal role is part of a deliberate leadership transition plan, offering a clear path to a Vice President level position for the right candidate. The ideal individual will possess a robust background in commercial estimating, specifically within the multifamily high-rise and educational sectors, and the technical prowess to drive our estimating department forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all estimating activities for the company, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
• Mentor and develop the preconstruction team.
• Collaborate closely with project management, operations, and business development teams.
• Develop comprehensive estimates for diverse commercial projects, with an emphasis on high-rise residential and institutional/educational facilities.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed quantity take-offs, cost analyses, and proposal documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes and technology utilization.
• Interface with clients and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and project scopes.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial construction estimating is required. Prior exposure to multifamily high-rise and educational facility projects is highly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise with industry-standard estimating software, including Accubid and Live Count.
• Leadership: Proven leadership potential and a readiness to step into a Chief Estimator or VP of Preconstruction role, managing a team and department operations.
• Background: A strong commercial estimating track record is mandatory. An engineering background or relevant degree is preferred.
• Skills & Character:
• High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all departments.
• Stable work history, demonstrating commitment and reliability (no frequent job changes).
• AutoCAD experience is a strong bonus.
