Our client is a new, high-growth MGA/hybrid carrier platform backed by an established carrier and experienced operators with deep Texas property expertise and highly credible data. The organization is relaunching its homeowners offering with modernized product design, improved flexibility, and a focus on bringing greater choice to consumers in a traditionally underserved segment. With a lean operating model, a strong agent network, and plans for expanded distribution, the company offers the stability of an existing book combined with the energy and pace of a build‑oriented environment.
About the Role
The Product Manager is this organization’s first dedicated product hire and will work closely with leadership to refine existing residential property filings, evolve coverage and rating structures, and deliver the product into their policy administration system. This role requires an experienced product manager who can begin executing immediately with minimal training, owning filings, system delivery, and rate/rule accuracy from day one.
While this relaunch is not a from-scratch build, it is highly hands-on and execution focused, ideal for someone who enjoys building and delivering product mechanics, not high-level strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end execution of Texas residential property product updates, including forms, rules, rates, and supporting documentation
- Prepare and manage admitted filings, including updates to existing filings, compliance responses, and coordination with regulators
- Translate product requirements into detailed system specifications for Brightcore and lead the full product delivery workflow, including rating table development, forms mapping, configuration, testing, and QA validation
- Oversee configuration, testing, validation, and deployment of product elements within the PAS
- Ensure accuracy in rating factors, deductibles, territory structures, surcharges, credits, and related technical components
- Conduct competitive research to inform filing updates and product enhancements
- Partner with underwriting, actuarial, and operations to refine coverage, pricing inputs, and overall product structure
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for product mechanics, responding to internal questions and troubleshooting issues
- Support planning for future expansion, enhancements, or state additions as the portfolio scales
- Participate in selecting or shaping supporting systems such as data tools, workflow tools, or reporting environments
- Maintain ongoing product hygiene, including updates, corrections, compliance changes, and release documentation
Qualifications:
- 5-10+ years of residential property product management experience with strong Texas homeowners exposure
- Ability to interpret and translate actuarial indications into filings and rating tables (pricing and actuarial exposure a plus, but not required)
- Experience owning filings, rate development, rules, forms, and DOI interactions
- Background in admitted filings required; E&S experience is helpful
- Experience onboarding product builds into a policy administration system
- High comfort level working inside a PAS is essential;
Brightcore familiarity preferred but not required - Strong technical execution skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to operate independently and manage deliverables in a lean, fast-moving environment
- Multi-state or CAT-exposed state experience is a bonus
- Dallas/Fort Worth location preferred; must be willing to work in the Fort Worth office three days weekly
Why we love this opportunity:
- Backed by an established carrier platform yet operates with the pace of a modern MGA
- Leadership team has deep industry experience and a clear, compelling product vision
- Real opportunity to influence product direction and execution from day one
- Unique product concept that brings new options and flexibility to the residential property market
- Lean, collaborative environment with meaningful autonomy
- Strong momentum, strong agent relationships, and significant planned growth
