Senior Accountant – FAR/DFAR-Government Commercial Contracts

Corner Stone Professional Placement (woman-owned commercial government contractor). This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-driven accounting professional with GAAP expertise, advanced Excel skills, and ideally experience working with commercial-type government contracts.

L iaison role with a focus on accurate data management, complex reporting, and financial analysis. familiarity with FAR/DFARS and how they apply to non-cost-based, commercial government contracts will help accelerate success.

• Extract, organize, and analyze accounting and payroll data from accounting and ADP systems using advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, what-if scenarios)
• Create and manage Excel schedules for custom reporting, proposal generation, and financial forecasting
• Oversee full-cycle accounting functions including GL, AR/AP, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Support inventory systems and ensure internal controls are maintained
• Maintain strict attention to detail and accuracy in all deliverables
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment across operations and finance
• Provide reliable, consistent support and contribute to a strong team dynamic

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Advanced Excel user with proven ability to manage large data sets
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Extensive accounting system experience, including payroll, reconciliations, financial reporting
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork mentality
• Highly dependable, punctual, and able to work overtime when needed
• Professional references required who can speak to prior performance and integrity

• Experience with ADP Workforce Now
• Understanding of multi-state business, tax, and labor compliance
• Familiarity with cybersecurity-sensitive industries (DoD, HIPAA, Financial Services)
• Knowledge of MAS/Sage Accounting Software
• Exposure to FAR/DFARS related to commercial-type government contracting

• Base pay range: $95,000.00/yr - $/yr
