Description:
During the school vacation weeks, Arlington Center for the Arts offers a variety of fun, creative arts programs for preschoolers through teens. Our camps value imagination, artistic exploration and self-expression. Currently, we are seeking Art Teachers for Summer Vacation Camp. Instructors are not committed to all weeks and are able to choose the weeks that work best for them.
Qualifications:Successful candidates will be talented artists and professional teachers with a real interest in creating a welcoming, inspiring experience for all students.
We prefer candidates who have:
- 2 years lived experience working with kids/teens (we welcome diverse sets of expertise and personal experiences that originate from lived experience, education, and/or employment)
- Experience/Technical focus in Visual Art
- Organizational skills and the ability to submit materials on time
- A friendly, inclusive mindset and enthusiasm for your subject
- An interest in being part of the ACA community and expanding our reach
Top Candidates have the following Qualities:
- Organized with thoughtful lesson plans that include learners of all experiences and abilities
- Patient and flexible in their teaching and working styles
- Excellent communicators who can share ideas, express needs, and request assistance
- Thoughtful about materials, teaching students to handle items with care, recycle, and share
- Having a Growth Mindset: knowing there is always something new to learn as a person and educator
