Northwest Community Hospital - Infusion Center - 3060 W Salt Creek Ln, Arlington Heights, IL 60005 - Part Time | 20 hours/week
- Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays - Required Travel:

The Staff Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Staff Nurse collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
What You Will Do- Develop a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluate patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revise diagnoses, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.
- Provide patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
- Communicate plan of care to patient and family regularly, respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicate patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Document patient health data, interventions and communications.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assess patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modify teaching plan accordingly. Provide teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identify community resources to support patient self‑management of disease.
- Interact with and contribute to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Share knowledge, provide feedback and contribute to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assign or delegate tasks as needed.
- Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support.
- Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, oxygen therapy, and IV management.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keep abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self‑directed learning activities. Support staff in using research and providing evidence‑based care.
- If skilled, conduct daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Monitor effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in transporting acutely ill patients as needed.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, required. - Experience:
1 Year ICU or ER experience, 1 Year radiology nursing experience, and/or 1 Year wound/ostomy experience, preferred. - Certification:
Successful completion of Wound Ostomy Associate class and Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) – Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB), preferred. - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) – National CPR Foundation (NCPRF), required.
- License:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Active Illinois State Nursing License, required.
