Credentialing Specialist , Full‑time
Location:
On‑site Arlington Heights
Days/
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Review individual provider and/or facility location files for appropriate documentation required for credentialing process
- Coordinate re‑credentialing applications and conduct document research
- Submit applications to credentialing manager for review
- Review applications for completeness and confidential information collected, verification and documentation in accordance with policy and procedure
- Communicate with providers and field associates regarding credentialing information and status updates
- Initiate and follow through on all aspects of credentialing process, including initial and follow up credentialing, for all insurances our facility is contracted with
- Monitor license and credential expirations by maintaining continuous credentialing and re‑credentialing of all providers and/or locations
- Collaborate with credentialing management in efforts to continue streamlining and updating of the credentialing process
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Ability to alternate between prolonged periods sitting, frequent standing, lifting, reaching, stooping. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs
- Solid, concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Possess information research skills
- Organized, with great attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to any disruptions or changes in the day
- Skill in establishing priorities with independent coordination and management of all day‑to‑day aspects
- Ability to be resourceful and self‑reliant to take initiative making decisions when issues arise
- Multitasking and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Knowledge of medical provider credentialing and accreditation principles, policies, procedures and documentation
- Prior credentialing experience performing similar duties in a medical setting
- Advanced computer skills utilizing Word and Excel, emphasis on spread sheeting and database management
- Solid understanding of medical terminologies
