New Hope Academy, a private therapeutic day school serving students with diverse learning and emotional needs, is seeking a passionate and competent Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive and supportive classroom that encourages both academic growth and emotional regulation. You will teach high school‑level mathematics while collaborating with therapists, case managers, and other staff to promote student success across all domains.
Every child deserves to reach their full potential, and we’re looking to hire an exceptional teacher who will play an essential role in fueling student success.
- Design and deliver engaging math instruction tailored to a range of learners, from foundational skills to advanced high school math (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Honors classes, etc.).
- Differentiate lessons to meet IEP goals and accommodate diverse learning styles, processing needs, and executive functioning challenges.
- Develop and implement student‑centered projects and activities that promote inquiry, problem‑solving, and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of grades, progress monitoring, and IEP data collection.
- Collaborate with therapists, special educators, and related service providers to integrate therapeutic supports and promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families
Lincoln caucus, districts, and internal teams. - Attend and participate in daily morning staff meetings and bi‑weekly team meetings to review student progress and coordinate support.
- Provide consistent structure, warmth, and creativity in your classroom to build a safe, predictable learning environment.
- Utilize the school’s behavior support and intervention strategies.
- Implement de‑escalation techniques and crisis management to maintain the safety of students and staff. is duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Math Education, karaoke mathematics, or a related field.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills.
- Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.

- LBS1 certification or experience working with students with IEPs.
- Experience in a therapeutic or alternative education setting.
USD $60,000.00 - USD $65,000.00 /Yr.
Physical Requirements Physical Abilities- Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily.
- Capacity to remain calm and composed during emotionally demanding situations, ensuring student safety and well-being.
