Ben Bellucci Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, spirited, and reliable After-School Cheerdance Instructor to lead our elementary programs throughout Cook County
. We are looking for an instructor who can combine the energy of cheerleading with the rhythm of dance to help students (Grades K‑5) build confidence and school spirit.
This role is perfect for dancers, cheerleaders, or performers who love working with children and want to inspire them through movement, teamwork, and positivity.
Key ResponsibilitiesRoutine Instruction: Teach age‑appropriate cheerdance routines, incorporating sharp cheer motions, basic dance steps, and rhythmic movements.
Skill Building: Instruct students on foundational cheer techniques, including jumps, vocal projection (chants/cheers), and synchronization.
Performance Prep: Help students memorize short routines for "showcase days" where they can perform for their peers and families.
Safety amp;
Form: Ensure all movements are performed safely, focusing on proper stretching and technique to prevent injury.Positive Environment: Foster a supportive atmosphere where every student feels included and empowered to express themselves.
Logistics amp;
Safety: Manage student check‑in/out and ensure the designated practice space (gym, stage, or cafeteria) is left clean and organized.
Experience working with children (coaching, teaching, or camp leadership preferred).
Background in Cheerleading, Dance, Poms, or Gymnastics is required.
High energy, reliability, and the ability to command a room of 15–20 children.
Reliable transportation to various school sites in Cook County (Chicago and suburbs).
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
Must pass a comprehensive background check (meeting Illinois and local district vendor standards).
Pay
Hours: After-school hours, typically 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM (varies by school).
Commitment: 1–3 days per week (flexible based on your schedule).
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour based on experience and background.
Flexible, part‑time schedule perfect for students, performers, or freelance instructors.
Paid training and access to BBA’s cheerdance curriculum.
All necessary equipment (music, pompoms) and BBA apparel provided.
