Role SummaryPeace Industries, Inc (dba Spotnails), an award‑winning distributor of collated fasteners, pneumatic tools, and replacement parts, headquartered in Rolling Meadows, IL, is seeking a Product Design Technician / Quality Technician to join our team. The role reports directly to the Product Manager and involves collaborating with other team members, customers, and suppliers to design products, optimize processes, and ensure timely shipment of high‑quality items.

The ideal candidate will approach work with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and integrity; love learning; and have a customer‑oriented mindset for both product design and quality. Superior analytical and problem‑solving skills, as well as strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting systems and working with tools and machinery, are essential.
Primary Duties- Participate on a team working directly with customers to create efficiencies in their production processes through automation implementation
- Assist in the fabrication and design of metal prototypes
- Create, update, and organize detailed schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings using CAD
- Help develop and launch new product lines
- Develop and maintain inspection techniques, procedures, and documentation for incoming goods
- Ensure and communicate compliance with standards and industry regulations, including building codes and environmental requirements
- Support qualification and ongoing monitoring of third‑party manufacturing partners
- Lead CAPA activities (Corrective Action & Preventive Action Plans)

- Experience or willingness to learn milling machines, lathes, welding equipment, etc.
- Demonstrated success in working with customers and suppliers
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Available for occasional travel
