Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists cook in preparing and serving meals and snacks daily, following USDA approved menus prepared by the Nutrition/Facilities Manager.

Assists cook with recording daily temperature of freezer and refrigerator.

Assists cook with the inventory of food items.

Attends center staff meetings and other training as required.

Works with classroom teachers to purchase and present cooking and tasting experiences for the children.

Assists cook with preparing healthy snacks for parent meetings.

Assists cook with unpacking groceries and supplies and puts them away.

Wears back braces to lift items over 10 lbs.

Wears a hairnet at all times when in the kitchen and is responsible to see that anyone entering the kitchen also wears a hairnet and washes their hand upon entry.

Wears gloves when preparing and serving food.

Works to keep kitchen and all cooking supplies clean and sanitary following Health Department guidelines.

Responsible for progression in professional development.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent. Relevant experience preferred.

Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 3:00PM
