The James Clinical Call Center Triage RN is responsible for being the primary responder to manage telephone calls within the defined scope of practice as established by the Ohio Board of Registered Nursing for established James patients. The RN completes an initial call assessment, triages the call based on the assessment, and uses established triage algorithms to guide interventions. The RN documents assessment and management in the electronic medical record and follows up on post-discharge or post-procedure calls requiring additional intervention.

The RN also triages remote monitoring patients and provides clinical support for scheduling staff for referral needs. Additionally, the RN supports calls to the Cancer Bridge Line—a cancer information service for employees of identified business organizations.

The James Clinical Call Center Triage Nurse is a registered nurse trained to be the first responder, managing calls from patients, caregivers, and others to assess and manage both symptom and non-symptom related calls for established James patients.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) – preferred
• Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient setting
• Basic PC and keyboard skills required
• Experience in telephone assessment and management – preferred
