We are accepting applications for an RN position in the Intensive Care Unit.
Job DescriptionResponsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and coordinates all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices.
Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Communicate effectively and maintain two‑way communication with peers, staff, physicians and administration.
- Adapt to change in a positive, professional manner.
- Follow through on problems that may compromise patient care by using the appropriate chain of command.
- Cooperate well with peers and support group decisions.
- Communicate appropriate information to charge nurse/supervisor/manager in a timely manner.
- Document accurately and in a timely manner according to guidelines.
- Write legibly.
- Maintain a clear, neat and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Ensure supplies and equipment for patient care are readily available and organized efficiently.
- Correctly identify and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Seek information/guidance from others as needed.
- Consistently use skilled communication that demonstrates congruence between words and actions, holding others accountable for the same.
- Delegate tasks and duties to other members of the health care team appropriately.
- Perform accurate ongoing assessment of patient status.
- Effectively plan interventions, evaluate response and re‑assess plan of care. Document response on the care plan.
- Effectively role‑model professional behavior.
- Ensure continuity of professional care.
- Demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills for all age groups.
- Respond to patient and family requests promptly.
- Charting reflects patient problems identified in the plan of care and is timely and accurate.
- Monitor, administer and chart all medications prescribed.
- Use patient safety techniques in the delivery of medications.
- Monitor and report in a timely manner any adverse drug reactions.
- Safely perform IV therapy.
- Accurately follow policies in patient care, including blood administration, specimen labeling and patient identification.
- Graduate of a certified RN program.
- License to practice in the state of Arkansas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or obtained within the introductory period.
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification or obtained within two years of hire.
- Current Continuing Professional Improvement (CPI) within 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat and kneel.
- Must possess visual acuity.
