Family Medicine Physician Assistant or APRN

Job Summary And Responsibilities:

CHI St Vincent Primary Care in Murfreesboro is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate APRN or Physician Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive primary healthcare to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, within a rural community setting. Under the supervision of a collaborating physician, the PA will manage acute and chronic conditions, perform health maintenance, and actively promote wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for patients across the lifespan.
  • Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging, EKGs).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and CHI St. Vincent protocols.
  • Provide health maintenance and preventive care, including immunizations and screenings.
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, health promotion, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Perform minor office procedures (e.g., suturing, minor wound care, joint injections, skin lesion removal) as appropriate to scope of practice and clinical competency.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough electronic health records (EHR) documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, MAs, and other healthcare team members.
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals to specialty care when necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master's degree preferred).
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited APRN program.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of Arkansas.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arkansas.
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of Arkansas.
  • Current national certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, depending on practice scope.
  • Valid DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain upon hire).
