Job Summary
  • Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
  • Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
  • Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams.
  • Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities.
  • Decisions are guided by resource availability and organizational objectives.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees and directs operations of all production areas to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop overall production schedules, materials, and resource requirements to meet short and long-term production goals.
  • Coordinates the flow of work through the department and ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
  • Monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues and develop process improvements and best practices.
  • Plans maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed.
  • Establishes staff training processes, equipment, gear, and tool requirements to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Leads and directs the work of other managers and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Business degree preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.
