Job Summary
Leads corrective and preventative tool maintenance to ensure the on-time delivery of a quality product for all customers related to plant operations. Performs maintenance functions and changeovers on tooling as scheduled to ensure maximum efficiency of molding operations. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities andJob Requirements
- Setup injection molds for production by changing inserts, pins, and other tooling components as specified on part prints.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all tooling based on work orders.
- Prioritize assigned work to ensure production schedules are met.
- Work in conjunction with Molding Manager to establish KPIs to monitor efficiency in change over time.
- Work within a team environment with constant collaboration amongst Process Engineers, Molding Technicians, BTD Employees, Maintenance Technicians, Molding Manager, and Molding Supervisors.
- Lead by example to support a culture of preventative maintenance, quick die change, cycle time, 5S, and world class injection molding.
- Assist the Molding Manager to maintain the proper stock levels of all required items to perform proper tool maintenance.
- Coordinate Change over, tool repairs, and tool changes with the tool shop to ensure timely delivery of tools and product to both the tool shop and BES.
- Will coordinate with Tool Shop and/or Engineering on trial runs of new or improved tools, or sample material in the Molding Department.
- Will coordinate with Molding Manager on capital equipment.
- Will actively seek out and implement continuous improvements within the Molding Department.
- Support and implement 5S within the Molding Department.
- Lean manufacturing processes and principles
- 5 - 7 years of experience in Injection Molding tool maintenance and repair
- 2-Year degree or equivalent experience is preferred
