What You’ll Do
  • Champion Safety:
    Foster a culture of safety by leading daily safety briefings, chairing the Safety Committee, and ensuring all team members follow best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive Maintenance Excellence:
    Schedule, supervise, and support maintenance personnel and subcontractors, ensuring equipment is serviced and available for peak production. Oversee preventive maintenance using state‑of‑the‑art systems (E‑maint, CMMS) and manage critical parts inventory.
  • Lead and Mentor:
    Develop team members through mentoring programs, provide training, and actively participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Optimize Operations:
    Collaborate with plant leadership to align maintenance activities with production goals, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure Compliance:
    Stay current with MSHA, US Coast Guard, US Corps of Engineers, and ADEQ regulations. Develop and implement plans to meet Coast Guard Sub‑Chapter M requirements and maintain top‑notch regulatory compliance across all operations.
  • Support River and Mine Operations:
    Coordinate personnel and equipment for mine planning and river operations, conduct regular site inspections, and serve as a backup operator for dredge and plant equipment.
  • Manage Financials:
    Assist with monthly financial reviews, forecasting, and cost control measures to support the plant’s fiscal health.
  • Be a Team Player:
    Step in for management as needed and perform other duties to help our operations run smoothly and safely.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience:

    Demonstrated experience in maintenance, preferably in a quarry, mining, or heavy industrial environment. Leadership experience strongly preferred.
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum 18 years old, able to complete required MSHA and miner training within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to team leadership.
  • Proven ability to adapt, multitask, and drive change in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Familiarity with procurement, inventory management, and maintenance management systems.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards and organizational goals.
